2.1.0
- New: Share a presentation in any browser with HTML export (Beta). The same export works as a scrolling document, a one-slide-at-a-time player, or an embedded presentation, with keyboard navigation, builds, media, and optional presenter notes.
- New: Create accessible PDF/UA-2 files. Deckset adds tags for headings, lists, tables, links, reading order, and image descriptions, then checks the result before saving.
- New: Turn on accessibility warnings in Presentation Options to spot missing or unrecognized media descriptions while you edit. Export validation still runs whether these warnings are shown or hidden.
- New: Meet Broadside and Ledger, two new themes with several color variants each.
- New: Place a logo in any corner throughout your presentation. Choose its size and margin, and Deckset will make room for it beside your content, footer, and slide numbers.
- New: Bring live Mentimeter polls and results into Presentation Mode. Add a poster or description for thumbnails, printouts, and exports.
- New: Keep columns visually consistent with uniform column scaling, which scales every column by the same amount.
- New: Turn the pause screen into a custom slide with Markdown, images, diagrams, and your own styling.
- New: Press C while presenting to draw attention to your pointer with a colored highlight or spotlight.
- New: Give code blocks macOS-style windows and optional titles, with backgrounds and syntax colors you can change on each slide.
- New: Highlight Robot Framework and Terraform/HCL code.
- New: Place headings at the top, center, or bottom of title-only slides.
- New: Use Obsidian-style media embeds, such as
![[image.png]]. Deeper Obsidian integration is coming in a future release.
- New: Set the presentation title and language in Markdown. If you leave the language out, Deckset detects it from the presentation text when exporting to PDF or HTML.
- New: Add descriptions to Mermaid diagrams for accessible exports. Deckset can also create spoken descriptions for formulas.
- New: Press K or your keyboard’s media key to play or pause media while presenting.
- Updated: Do more with AppleScript: start or stop a presentation, switch presenter displays, check whether a presentation is running, and export accessible PDFs or HTML.
- Updated: Set a time budget from the presentation settings sidebar.
- Updated: The modern Settings window and documentation browser are now available on macOS 15.
- Updated: The Library now highlights a rotating selection of Deckset features on macOS 15 and later, with links to the relevant Help topics.
- Updated: Choosing your preferred Markdown editor is easier, and Deckset no longer holds up the interface while looking for installed editors.
- Updated: Missing-image warnings can suggest a matching filename, including SVG files.
- Updated: YouTube thumbnails in exported PDFs now link to the original video.
- Updated: Large presentations use less memory in the slide grid and handle image thumbnails more efficiently.
- Fixed: YouTube videos started from the keyboard now play in the active presentation window, with better recovery when an embedded video cannot play.
- Fixed: Tables now size, align, and space their content more consistently, including cells with formulas, images, or mixed formatting.
- Fixed: Asterisks and underscores inside inline code no longer turn into emphasis. Bold, italic, and custom text styles around inline code also behave better.
- Fixed: SVGs in footers now render correctly, and footer text keeps the right font.
- Fixed: Formulas and code align correctly, and headings that mix fitted text with inline content wrap more reliably.
- Fixed: Empty list items no longer add unwanted space, and list separators keep the right font.
- Fixed: Floating previews and failed image loads no longer cause crashes. Deckset also handles thumbnail-cache write failures safely, including when the disk is full.
- Fixed: Back navigation no longer replaces Help content. Reveal in Finder, Select All in documentation search, and view-mode labels also work as expected.
Note: HTML export is marked Beta because browsers can render fonts, media, themes, and custom styles differently. If something does not look right, please email support@deckset.com.
Note: This is the last release line supporting macOS 10.15 and 11. Future Deckset versions will require at least macOS 12.
